THE GATES OF HELL

 

Jesus said "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18 .

If you are Orthodox, you must have an interpretation of the bible that emphatically states in order to fulfil "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" the church must not be either

1) Hiding from persecution for a long period of time amounting to hundreds of years,

or

2) Were openly there, but the record has been largely expunged from the historical records, as they were so unopposable in doctrine. this is further supported by the fact Orthodoxy says all manner of heresies existed in that 1,000 year period, but no one existed who simply believed in Christ and repented..... no one thought of that.

3) Was always there, but was not what they say it was (referring to the possibility the Orthodox and Catholic type sacerdotalist / works salvation heretics were not saved, but some children became born again as parents are given the task in their religion of indoctrination of their children, who might have simply repented and accepted Christ as their Saviour, only later being corrupted by the indoctrination process.)

as then the "Protestant" view of history is sound.

EXAMPLE 1 : THE ELIJAH PERIOD :

"Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 

Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

Romans 11: 2-6

Here we have only 7,000 men on the entire planet not corrupted, and even they were not visible to Elijah. Some of these men may simply have been hiding with their families, as Baal worshippers burnt children alive, and you must remember Roman Catholics simply burnt people alive.

and..... please notice here that Paul not only describes a small remnant of true believers, but also characterizes those true believers as those who implicitly and explicitly believe in salvation by grace alone! doubly emphasizing this in Romans 11:6 (a verse so proving salvation by grace through faith alone the Roman Catholics miss half of it out of many of their bibles, like the Douay version).

EXAMPLE 2: THE BABYLONIANS and ASSYRIAN CAPTIVITIES .

Jesus said that in this very long period of time, involving hundreds of years, the Pharisees were corrupting the Faith with heresy, as well as them not being able to practice their religion in the temple.

EXAMPLE 3: EARLY CHRISTIAN PERSECUTIONS :

Ironically there was a very long period of Early persecution when Christians had to either hide or be martyred, before the Orthodox style heretics ran off and prostituted themselves with the fake Christian Constantine. This period of time (from 100 - 300 AD approx) involved persecutions in the time of

Trajan

Hadrian

Marcus Aurelius

Decius

(Gallus)

(Valerian)

Diocletian .

EXAMPLE 4: THE DARK AGES :

Is it really so "impossible" the true pacifist church was hiding from persecution for approximately 1,000 years, ironically largely from Catholic and Orthodox style of believers, as well as Muslims and heathens? Especially as this time period is largely known as "The Dark Ages" by historians, a misnomer created by Catholic influence, as that long time period called The Dark Ages consisted of never ending invasions of one heathen tribe after another disrupting the attempts to build a stable social structure, and thus any ability to keep historical records of everyone's religious beliefs was also entirely thwarted and prevented.

EXAMPLE 5: THE MARK OF THE BEAST .

One extra reason the Orthodox do not study and interpret the Book of Revelation, is that it describes a time period of 3 and 1/2 years where the church is either executed by beheading, or must hide.

EXAMPLE 6 : RUSSIAN PERSECUTIONS :

Do not forget also that the Orthodox persecuted the Orthodox in Russia, forcing some of them to hide in the Russian wilderness, of whom Agafia and her family is/was an example. Though I do not think myself the form of old style Orthodox believers who hid away in the Russian wilderness are examples of the true Faith, nevertheless they claim themselves to have been forced to disappear from the radar, they were there but not visible. Yet their doctrinal interpretation of the Dark Ages is that it is IMPOSSIBLE that the true Church remained in hiding.

EXAMPLE 7: THE HISTORICITY OF THE BIBLE .

When you read the bible, do you, by Faith, simply accept what it says as true, or do you want archaeological evidence and proven carbon radiation dated documents from the time to "prove" it to you? The fact is the bible account of history is constantly under attack by secular historians saying "prove it". Must you have archaeological evidence David killed Goliath, the walls of Jericho fell down in the manner described, Daniel was in the lions den etc? The fact is God has definitely not left such evidence behind for everything. So why do you think he will do that for the existence of the true non violent peace and love church of Jesus throughout the Dark Ages and the surrounding time period? It is a plain contradiction of the scheme of history to demand it - yet the denial of the existence of simple gospel believers because there is no huge paper trail and historical evidence is the backbone of the Orthodox religion.

EXAMPLE 7: THE ZENITH.

Let us take the issue to the zenith, Let us say that the murderous activities of the Catholics, various Orthodox churches, turks, muslims, heathen tribes, Norsemen, Asian invaders, etc really did wipe out all the evangelicals, and that no children ever believed a simplified version of the gospel in Catholicism or Orthodoxy, and the church really was wiped out for 1,000 years. For me (I cannot speak for others) as the church is here today in full power and has been for centuries, it really would not make me think "the gates of Hell" had prevailed against it, because as Jesus died and rose again the true church would be going through the same process. It would be the imitation of Christ. Did "the gates of Hell" prevail against Jesus because he was killed? Therefore the whole business is a moot point. What are the true new testament churches teachings is the point. Apparently the Catholics and the Orthodox think that because traditions exist you can tradition the church to death and it is ok, just like Jesus said the Pharisees had done. Frankly, we that know The Word know they are blind.

Consider this question,

Given my views expressed on this website ( that is -  Orthodoxy is christianized witchcraft in disguise ), what do you think the Catholic and Orthodox style believers would have done to me, in less civilised times. over 1,000 years ago?

You know they would have almost certainly killed me, right? Indeed just asking that question shows that the Orthodox and Catholics were not really even civilised. If you think a person would be "free to express his views" in the time of Constantine, even if that view was that Constantines form of Christianity was witchcraft, I think you are naive or at best very over optimistic.  After all, they even put Maximus the Confessor (580-662 AD) on trial for heresy, then chopped off his hand and cut out his tongue as a punishment, then later they decided he was right. These people are not Christians, they are not now and never have been. "The way of Peace they have not known." Romans 3:17. I find it one of the most laughable things I have ever even heard of, that many Orthodox believers say Orthodoxy is pacifist, with a history of violence like theirs. It is the most oxymoronic religion I have ever seen, full of people who doublethink all day long.

1) The 666 System.

Why do you see so little in Orthodoxy, instructing people how to avoid the 666 mark, what it is, and who the antichrist is or was? And about eschatology in general? By never addressing the issue they will probably all take the mark. The only Orthodox person I heard warning against it was the hidden hermit Agfia. How ironic.

1) The Ichthus believers.

The Orthodox will probably receive the 666 mark when it appears. Why? Well..... if they study the subject they will realise that soon a time period will begin, probably for about three and one half years, perhaps a little longer, when right across planet Earth believers will either be executed for not receiving the 666 mark, or they must hide. If the Orthodox admit this, it will mean facing up to the fact that their own church, Catholicism and Islam have a history of murdering, torturing, imprisoning and persecuting real believers to such an extent they were forced into hiding too in exactly the same way, and into acknowledging that the 666 persecution time period in the near future is just a rerun of a time period they like to deny exists, when it was THEM who were the persecutors! Under such circumstances early believers never wanted to leave behind them some big footprint on history necessarily, many were in hiding, and what is more the true most pre version of the faith (a house group movement - spending money feeding the poor, not building churches and Cathedrals) does not leave behind much archaeological evidence like idol statues, idol icons, solid gold and silver chalices for communion, golden threaded uniforms, crowns, or buildings, or lying collections of relics. Indeed the lack of all those things is simply a proof of their purity, not their non existence. It would not even matter to Protestants if they did manage to murder them out of existence for hundreds of years, because as you see now, all that would mean is that the church was resurrected just like their Saviour. Did "the gates of hell" prevail against Jesus because he died and was resurrected. The fact is some people are just not blind, deaf and dumb enough to accept the lie that men have been empowered to add ritualistic nonsense to the Faith. Period. Fullstop. And if you are not one of those spiritual and sensible people I pity you. Who needs Orthodox hocus pocus rituals for salvation? No one. They are on the contrary a ticket to hell.

The church in hiding.

The word Protestant means "for a testimony" but it is not demanded in the Christian Faith that if the Muslims invaded your land in the Dark Ages that you must run over and say "We are real Christians so you will want to kill us!" The Holy Spirit will sometimes lead us to say nothing, or even hide and run away, as well as to stand for the Faith openly and risk execution. Even Jesus said "neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things". Jesus himself miraculously walked through crowds who came to execute him before his time. Paul escaped over a high wall in a basket and escaped from men trying to kill him for the Faith. Jesus remained silent sometimes in his trials insomuch Pilate marvelled. Saying nothing is an option sometimes.

When hunted by the 666 system some will stand and die for the Faith, or simply be captured, but those who hide and make it all the way through to the Rapture are extolled as part of the hope of the Faith, and a fulfilment that the Gates of Hell will not prevail against the church. The Orthodox belief that NO ONE in the Dark Ages believed in salvation by grace through faith alone is supported by what? When almost all countries were in turmoil through the various tribes running to and fro from nation to nation who (frankly) had learned the art of perfecting warfare from the Roman Empire, an Empire of blood that the Orthodox justify. Who exactly was keeping tabs on it all? And why does the Vatican refuse to release the information on the Holy Inquisitions? And who was being killed for what?
