How to be saved:

    I am Evangelical, but very anti Calvinist and pro free will, thus I believe I was drawn by God the Father, and I responded to God's offer of eternal life in Paradise to all those who believe in (to trust in and rely upon) Jesus for their salvation. Repentance is the quality indicator of this belief, and thus all those who trust in the finished work of Christ for salvation repent.
     After accepting Christ in this way a person is then born again, a spiritual rebirth, to become one of God's children, as described in the prophecy of the new and better covenant in Jer 31. As "every tree is known by his fruit" not "saved by his fruit" I believe a real Christian will show this in their life, including a relationship with God as well as good works, prayer, etc, however these works have no part in actual salvation, and neither do any works of priestcraft as proposed by Catholicism and Orthodoxy, such as baptism or communion, as that is the sacerdotalism heresy.
     This good news is clearly defined in 1 Cor 15:1-4 and by Jesus is Luke 24:42-48. Any other gospel other than the Jesus Saves Gospel is anathema (Galatians 1:6-9).

IF YOU WANT TO BE SAVED TODAY:

​

If you want to be saved today, you must quote "repent and believe the gospel". To "believe in Jesus" in Greek means "to trust in and rely upon him" for salvation. This means HE SAVED YOU when he died and rose again, if you believe upon or in him. The resurrection is just as much a part of our salvation as Jesus dying for our sins, remember that. To repent in Greek means to turn away from your old sinful life, and by necessity turn toward God. Repentance itself does not save you, JESUS SAVES, however repentance is a quality indicator of belief. This is confirmed by Jesus when he says  "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations" and Paul when he says "unless ye have believed in vain". 

 

If you believe that you save yourself by your own works, or that people calling themselves priests, bishops, pastors, elders etc (in any kind of church, denomination, cult or sect) contribute to your salvation in any way, you reduce Jesus from the role of Saviour of your soul, to one of only the partial Saviour or semi Saviour of your soul. If you are being drawn by God today, and are sincere, you will see by Faith that you must never allow any man to trick you or to mislead you away from the simplicity of the gospel, which is confirmed by Jesus with divine simplicity in John 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

 

it really is as simple as that!

Contrary to the teachings of the Orthodox church, if you repent and accept Jesus as your Saviour, two things will then happen:

1) You will be born again. This is an invisible, spiritual rebirth of your soul. to become a son or daughter of God. When this happens you are given a new nature that tends toward doing good instead of doing evil.

2) You will instantly become part of the one true church, that is defined as "the body of Christ" in scripture. You do not need some priest, pastor, or elder putting you through some kind of religious exam, or catcheumen or confirmation period before you are accepted into the church, or allowed to be baptized, you are in the church now, in a state of salvation now, and are able to be baptized now.

YOU ARE NOW A SAVED CHRISTIAN!

that is in a state of salvation! If you died today you would be saved!

The bible tells us you should now seek to be baptized by full immersion in water. Baptism is not, repeat not, part of the "gospel by which we are saved" so it does not help in any way to save your soul (see 1 Cor 1:17). However a person of real faith will be led by God to obey and be baptized. Do not let anyone trick you into thinking baptism saves, or baptism is being born again, they are just trying to deceive you into the lie of salvation by priestcraft, where another man other than Jesus saves your soul (who was fully man and fully God).

It is necessary also to believe Jesus is God to be saved, and not to "believe in" what amounts to a fake Jesus. All other beliefs, such as the Sabellian heresy, the binitarian heresy, the polytheist heresy, and the Unitarian heresy, all fall apart into nonsense when they are looked at in the light of both scripture, common sense and logic. For instance the Sabellianist heresy (also called the Oneness heresy) in effect says Jesus does not even exist! And you cannot accept someone who does not exist as your Saviour!

PROOF FROM SCRIPTURE:

​

The gospel (good news) by which we are saved is defined at least twice in the new testament:

 

Jesus:

"And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 

 

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them,

Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 

​

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." Luke 24:44-48

 

Saint Paul:

 

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 

​

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

​

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

The ROOT versus THE FRUIT:

​

Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox preachers often ridicule Protestants and Evangelical born again Christians who preach this simple gospel, by telling the following lie:

​

"Salvation is a process, that takes place over many years. This is because if you believe you are "just saved" it means you think you can commit any number of evil sins, never repent, and you are still so called {saved]."

​

By telling such lies they commit great sin, and practice great deception. Do not be tricked by such lies! Real Christians believe that Jesus said "Every tree is known by his fruit" not "saved by his fruit." This is called: "The root versus the fruit debate" in theology. The Catholics and Orthodox underpinning theology argues works are a root of salvation, but the Protestants and born again Christians (that is Evangelicals - preachers of the good news) be;ie works are simply the fruit of salvation. So certainly you will produce good works if you are saved, but that does not mean your puny good works can help to save your soul. Finite works can contribute nothing to infinite salvation. The bible calls our own righteousness "filthy rags" when it comes to saving your soul. it is an insult to the finished work of Christ to state or imply your salvation can be earned by a pile of dirty rags. Only in Jesus is found our salvation. The bible states clearly that anyone, whoever he is, that is in a state of unrepentance about what the bible calls. the works of the flesh, will not be saved, quote

 

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal 5:19-21

You should stay in a state of repentance throughout your life, and produce good works, but this does not mean you are helping to save your own soul. Refraining from "casting off your first Faith" )1 Timothy 5:12) is not the same theology as "contributing to your own salvation". In other words - do not think that because you refused to throw away your salvation by going back to long term unrepentant sin, and being a do nothing, that it means you actually earned eternal life. You never. Not throwing away your salvation is NOT the same as earning it!

and so in closing.....

If you really did accept Jesus as your Saviour today, by believing he saved your soul by dying for our sins, and being raised from the dead, and repenting of your sins, you will now enjoy a long term love relationship with Jesus, who has promised before he ascended into heaven "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world!" Amen.

If you are Eastern Orthodox today - repent and believe the true "good news" or gospel and you will be saved by Jesus!

I advice you perhaps to do a bible study about the Parable of the Sower, in Matthew 13, so you can go ahead and more safely grow in the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and bring form fruit for him. Amen.
