THE EASTERN ORTHODOX RELIGION

EASTERN ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY.

Eastern Orthodoxy is called that because it is associated with Eastern mysticism, and things like shrines, found in Eastern religions.  The long hair and beards so many of their clergy have seem incredibly similar to the image of Eastern religious "holy men" and gurus. If shrines with icons were the will of God the old testament would have been full of them.  Burning incense to icons is all part and parcel of these Eastern religions, were the false gods were replaced by Mary and the saints. There is massive evidence the first so called "church buildings" were just converted pagan temples, even going so far as renaming things like a statue of Apollo "Saint Peter", and the goddess Diana "Mary". These type of corruptions are some of the real roots of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy (from the East). Even hesychasm is similar to eastern meditation practices with its deep breathing exercises, were they turn disobeying the command of Jesus not to repeat prayers, into some kind of path to becoming a god. How absurd.

THE ORTHODOX OXYMORONIC CONTRADICTION.

It is the boast of Eastern Orthodoxy that between the dates of the conversion of the Emperor Constantine, and the emergence of the Lollards in England., that for 1,000 years there was not trace of the core centre Evangelical and Protestant gospels, and as Jesus said "The gates of Hades will not prevail" against the church, this proves that as Orthodoxy was a big visible counterfeit church, that must mean they are the way to heaven. 

What they dont tell you is:

1) 600 years of that 1000 year period are called "The Dark Ages" when history was not recorded properly, people tended to live in isolated communities more than big cities, to avoid hun invasions, so how do they know what people believed?

2) By saying this they make the definite claim they themselves were not preaching the core centre "Jesus Saves" gospel, destroying any credible attempt to masquerade as Evangelicals in their Facebook debates, confirming yet again their works based and priestcraft based "process of salvation".

someone somewhere is forging history. And the evidence it it is both of them.

The Orthodox know nothing of history. It is FAKE history they know. Take "the first two bishops of Antioch". Clearly both examples of FORGED history. They simply took two names out the bible (Onesimus and Stachys), and pretended they were two Orthodox style bishops, with entirely ZERO evidence they were. Why? Because they do not even know if these two men WERE the two characters from the new testament, they just THINK they MIGHT be!!! Thus they have nearly NO INFORMATION about their lives. Then they say "Their beliefs were our beliefs!" what utter BUNK!!!

 

IT ENDS WITH A MASSACRE

The few hundred years between the death of the Apostles and Constantine the Great is the only real part of history in question.... but it is fair at all to miss out the time when the Apostles were alive so they can ignore bible teaching?

Historians tell us this period of time ends with a massacre of Christians"fighting over doctrine" just before the Nicene Creed was written to "help settle the issues". But is it possible this butchery of Christians wad partly or largely aimed at one section of those saying they are Christian? Those who said Constantine was a phone Christian, that is the pacifists, the real Christians.

The various Orthodox Churches and the Roman Catholics say they have similar core centre beliefs, and they can be traced back to the original church, even though they are nothing like the new testament description of it. They are like a mother and her daughters. That they are nothing like the first church in scripture does not seem to bother them much, because famous forgeries such as the Divine Liturgy of St. Mark, and the Divine Liturgy of St James, supposedly prove they are like it. What is "divine" about forgeries? Their bogus Faith starts with a total fraud from the beginning.  It is a "carbon copy" of something that never even existed in the first place. The Liturgies they base their entire Faith on are mind numbingly obvious cheats, frauds, and fakes, they are bogus, they are a religious sham taught by pretenders and imposters dressed up in uniforms found nowhere in the bible. They are religious actors reading from a man made script, a forgery passed off as real,  and they want to rope you into the performance with them.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE.
As real early Christians did not "do idols" and did not "do churches" and did not "do uniforms" and did not "do swinging incense burners" or practice churchianity, and as they were for a long time hiding from mass murder under the ICHTHUS symbol - insisting that "real Christianity" will leave a trail of archaeological evidence behind it, when their entire emphasis was on the spiritual not the fleshly, carnal or physical, is a contradiction. That is why it's dumb to believe history books not the bible, which Jesus promised in Matthew 4:4 is preserved word for word. If some of the early Christian writers really did believe in transubstantiation, and the quotes are not mistranslations, or just more forgeries like the Liturgy of St Mark clearly is, what's the big deal? All it means is they were heretics too along with the Judaisers in Galatia, the Antinomianists in Rome, and the Nicolaitanes in Turkey.

 

Speaking of Turkey (where all the churches in the Book of Revelation were), in the 3rd Series of Bear Grylls Born Survivor in the episode about Turkey, he stumbles upon huge cliff faces of sandstone where early Christians hid from the Romans in massive cave systems with intricate tunnels. If they were real Christians they would hide from persecution not fight the Romans, just as Jesus said "flee to the mountains" rather than fight. True Christianity does not preach war in the way Orthodoxy does.

But I have seen so many anachronisms in these so called "early quotations" that I often doubt they are authentic, like the claim Justin Martyr used the word "transmutation" about holy communion. Even real quotations of genuine early Christians are worth nothing when compared to the Holy Bible, it is like trying to hold up a candle to the sun. Apostolic "hand-me-down" powers are a phony man made rabbit trail that leads into the dark caves of credulity. For over 1,000 years all the dusty tomes of early writers were in the hands of Romanism and Orthodoxy, two religions with manifest motivations to tweak the record of history, and that they have done that is proven beyond all shadow of a doubt by the forgery of the Divine Liturgies of St Mark and St James, just like they forged the gaudy, pompous, gold plated uniforms of their pseudo bishops. But the Word of God standeth sure. 

CUT THE GORDIAN KNOT !
Despite the strict warning of Jesus not to base your prayers or Faith on vain repetitions, like the heathen do, the Orthodox religion turns people into religious robots, and at the end of the clockwork conveyer belt of man made rites, rituals and ceremonies is the collection plate, and a clergy of parasites living for their own religious glory. They are so staggeringly vain they even believe in the heresy of theosis, or human deification. It all has precisely nothing to do with the new testament description of the church, which was a body of believers that met in houses, not in purpose built religious warehouses full of idols, that are as biblical as myrrh dripping icons and the bogus ""miracle of holy" fire they fake every year in Jerusalem. Because of them the great nation of Greece, that God blessed nation whose language will forever be used by God to give us the new testament, has gone into apostasy, with only a remnant of them saved even to this day, and what is needed is a new generation of true bible believing Greeks, with the determination of Alexander the Great and the spirituality of St Stephen, who stand fast for the "Jesus Saves" gospel and whose tradition is to hear the Word of God and keep it, the Word of God that is written in their language forever! And dump the traditions of the Pharisees who have deceived their nation! Draw out the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and cut the Gordian Knot of traditions that binds up your nation!

THE BIGGEST EVER DECEPTION - DIVERSION !
The Eastern Orthodox pharisees use 3 giant diversions away from the bible in their man made religion, first a wall of history books, then a never ending avalanche of fake saints autobiographies and religious philosophies, and finally a liturgical lifestyle observed in a mechanical fashion from a heathen calendar. All they ever do is try to divert the public away from the bible into thousands of historical scrolls, parchments and fragments of parchments, because the new testament is a rock solid description of what the first church really was, inspired word for word, and preserved word for word by a promise of the Almighty God in Matthew 4:4. The foundation of the Faith is a religious dreamworld from the very start, and what holds all the pieces together is the glue of indoctrination from their youth. Their modus operandi is "disempower and conquer" the Laodicean heresy, power over the laity. 

It is about time that the Evangelical Church worldwide recognized that the biggest religious deception of all time, that is destroying millions of souls in Hell who think they are Christians across planet Earth, is to place a large wall of dusty old obscure history books between the so called "laity" and the new testament, and then to tell them they cannot believe or understand God's Word unless they first understand all the dusty old history books. To complete the deception the conclusion is then forced upon them by indoctrination from childhood, that the combined evidence of that giant wall of scrolls and parchments is that Churchianity is the real Christianity, and that a bunch of religious men in uniforms who act like and even dress-up the same as the Pharisees were put in charge of it by God.

Right - The Whore of Babylon, Rome, holding out the cup of her fornication, seated on the world (see Revelation 17:4-5) on a medal made by Pope Leo XII. The Whore of Babylon is said to have her ancient roots in ancient goddess worship. She holds out the cup of the blasphemy of the mass..... fornication = a piece of bread is God in the flesh, filthiness = eating and digesting Jesus.

The Caryatids worshipped the ancient goddess Artemis. These later became a type of the whore daughters of Roma in spiritual Babylon in Revelation chapters 17 & 18.

HIDING THE BIBLE FROM THE PEOPLE.​

The cleverness of their deception then got even worse as the centuries went by. The word of God was then kept away from the people. The Catholics even performed the mass everywhere in Latin. Anyone trying to give the bible to the people was killed. Instead of the bible the Orthodox believers were diverted into hearing the teachings of a plethora of pseudo saints, false apostles, hermits, monks, pillarists, sages and forgeries and deliberate mistranslations. Try to keep in mind that the sight of a modern day believer walking to church with his bible, was a privilege earned through the blood of martyrs who were burnt alive for translating it, like William Tyndale and John Rogers , or even burnt alive for just reading it, like Joan Waste. It has nothing to do with the history of Orthodoxy. The history of Orthodoxy has nothing to do with putting bibles in peoples hands - they reluctantly copied that from Evangelicals. An "Evangelical" is simply a Christian who emphasizes that the main mission of the church is to spread the "good news" that in Jesus alone is Saviour (1 Cor 15:1-4 & Luke 24:44-48).


ORTHODOX PHARISEES.
The core centre deception of Orthodoxy is absolutely identical to that of the Pharisees who deceived Israel. Right from the time of the Gainsaying of Core, the idea was formed among the twelve tribes of Israel, that the 70 elders had the same power to bring the law of God to the people that Moses had, even though that rebellion was quelled. After the tribes of Judah and Benjamin were taken captive and corrupted in Babylon, and adopted the Babylonian calendar, they returned to Israel, and refused their own Messiah, failing God by doing so. After the death and resurrection of Jesus, and the establishment of the early church, the Pharisees sat down and wrote out the Talmud, unveiling their evil avalanche of oral manmade traditions that had destroyed the spirituality of their nation for so long. Please be clear about this. Modern day Judaism (a word found nowhere in scripture) does not claim to be the original Faith practiced by Moses. They believe as already stated, that their elders were empowered to write new law and form traditions just as Moses did. And that is the exact same premise of Orthodoxy.  They rejected sola scriptura, adopted a secular calendar into their religion just like the Jews, and say their false church evolved over the centuries into what it is today, because their "pa pas" and bishops have hand-me-down powers similar to the Apostles, and just as the disciples and Apostles gave new revelations to the church, they, like the 70 elders of Israel, have been empowered to do the same. Thus the fact Orthodoxy looks nothing like the early church, with its pomp, uniforms and clockwork liturgical worship is of no consequence. It does not matter to them that the Calendar they use is full of the names of false gods, like Mars, comparable to the month of Tammuz for the Jews. To evangelicals the calendar is just "there" not part of our Faith. 

THE "CLERGY".
The issue of "the celibacy of the clergy" is  one of the biggest giveaways to the highly developed form of the Laodicean heresy, or "power over the laity". Here priesthood becomes a career, something over and above the so called laity (rendered the laity by such false definitions. ), a false ministry, with an apprenticeship, "job" and a living by being either "kept" like some sort of spiritual concubine or given a salary too. 

CHURCH HISTORY.
The truth of the basic scheme of history is as follows:

1) The first church in the bible was almost identical to a born again, Evangelical house group movement, with no purpose built churches, and whose identifying characteristics were an emphasis on preaching the "Jesus Saves" gospel, Peace and Love, marriage for life, and were nothing like the clockwork religion by rote practiced by Orthodoxy. One proof of this is the merchant men in Acts chapter 2, who after they believe on Jesus returned home to a complete absence of church buildings full of pharisees to help save them via sacerdotalism, they had the "Jesus Saves" gospel, and that was enough to save them. 

2) Heresies arise. The early church was attacked by many heresies, examples of which include:

  1. Antinomian - Rom 3:8

  2. Judaisation - Galatians (the whole Epistle)

  3. False Apostles - Rev 2:2

  4. Nicolaitan* - Rev 2: 6 & 15

  5. Synagogue of Satan - Rev 2:8

  6. Doctrine of Balaam  - Rev 2:14

  7. Jezebel - Rev 2:20

  8. Sardis "big name but little fruit"  - Rev 3:1-6

     9  Laodicea - luke warm -  Rev 3:16

The idea that "Unless you know the exact speed with which the Apostasy happened - you cannot understand the bible properly" is a foolish error. Orthodox elaborates on this mistaken type of concept, by vigorously and vehemently promoting the idea that as there is a promise "The Gates of Hell will not prevail against the church" that the only possible interpretation of that, is that the church will always be visible, get bigger and bigger, and be some big religious/political force throughout history, or the prophecy is not fulfilled; when ironically they and the "Holy Mother Church" are the ones who persecuted it into hiding and tried to annihilate it.  

The Roman Catholic religion is the scarlet (religious) power behind the Whore of Babylon, the Mother of Harlots, whose daughters are the various sects of Orthodoxy. I find it very interesting that the religious heresies in the churches in Turkey in the Book of Revelation, when combined together, form the core centre of their Faiths. The Nicolaitan heresy for instance contains the word "laity" meaning the common people not the "professionals" a concept Jesus said he hated, as the first word "nico" means to conquer, they are lording it over the laity, an excellent description of the history of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. 

3) Churchianity begins. What do I mean by "church-ianity"? 7 things characterize it: 1) purpose built Church buildings and 2) A bogus ministerial structure and "offices" or ministries. 3) Uniforms 4) Ritualism 5) Liturgical religion by rote 6) Icons 7) Subjugation of the now newly invented "laity".When the church becomes a church building, full of men in uniforms, in a bogus priesthood, performing bogus rites, and you finish up like a religious robot mouthing a script, effectively ruled over by them, that's churchianity. You do not need them to forgive your sins or impart the Holy Spirit, and they do not "top you up" on salvation by cannibalism every week either. 

Next point in history was when the early church heresies began to join together to form a new religion of false apostles that we see today, often called Churchianity by Evangelicals,  that is the shared core centre of the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox churches etc. As I am not an historian, and as I believe the record of history has been tampered with inside the later tyrannically powerful Catholic and Orthodox religions and what amounts to their Empire, I think it would be a mistake for me to say the true core centre bundle of heresies had definitely formed and gelled together before Constantine, but Churchianity was in the process of formation. To what extent it had formed is not exactly clear. That true believers would try to hide from persecution ("flee to the mountains" - luke 21:21, Paul escaping in a basket etc) is not only attested in the bible, but also by the ICHTHUS symbol. So the idea there have been true believers hiding from persecution throughout the centuries is not unbiblical nor unhistorical. It is not essential or critical to anyone's present day faith or beliefs to live in the past and strive to exactly know what churches and fake churches were like in those days. Sola Scriptura is an obvious fact, and to believe truth you don't need to be an historian. 

4) The 2nd Babylonian Captivity (phase 1) begins. The 2nd Babylonian Captivity described in the Book of Revelation is characterized by the "purple and scarlet heresy" of melding together religious power (scarlet) and Governmental power (purple) see Rev 17:4. This happened at the time of Constantine the Great when Phase 1, its underlying structure, was formed. Just as Israel was inside a giant violent Empire and persecuted, so the true church was to be persecuted in the combined Catholic Empire, and Orthodox ruled countries, that made up spiritual Babylon (but also in the Arab and Islamic countries). This combining of religious and governmental power was to grow over the centuries, until it later resulted in the Holy Inquisition. The Harlot religion of churchianity, which by now was solidly forming,  was at this time period going through a process of mitosis, as is shown in the Chalcedonian Schism of 451 AD.

5) The Roman Catholic / Orthodox Schism of 1054 AD. 
Nothing exposes the big lie of the history of both of these churches being a single church going back to Jesus and the Apostles themselves than the Schism of 1054 AD. Why? Well because the doctrinal differences between Orthodoxy and Catholicism are in fact totally massive, there are probably around 100 hundred major differences, and yet both these religions claim that all the historical evidence shows they are the only true church - so that shows you the amount of forgery that goes on, misinterpretation, assumption, bogus tradition and elaboration. The reason many people in Orthodoxy do not realise that there are dozens and dozens and dozens of differences, is they are so distracted reading anecdotal stories about Orthodox hermits, monks, pseudo saints and sages etc, they are not getting down to the task. 

6) The Empire of Christendom - or the Second Babylonian Captivity (phase 2).
The definition I am using on this page of "Christendom" is the concept of the bringing together in Europe of countries in the Roman Catholic and Orthodox religions, largely to oppose the Arabs in the Crusades. Like my use of the word "Churchianity" (where from my perspective none of those in it are the true church at all) the word "Christendom" is similar, that is from my perspective those in it are warlike and Christless, the word "Christendom" was coined by those in the Empire itself. 
This long area of history is difficult because of cross definitions and the amount of time it spans. It is not to be confused with "The Holy Roman Empire". At the time of Philip II of France, at The Battle of Bouvines 1214 AD, Philip was Roman Catholic, and France largely was, yet he found himself at war with "The Holy Roman Empire" and largely Catholic England (not part of the Holy Roman Empire either). "the empire set up in western Europe following the coronation of Charlemagne as emperor in the year 800. It was created by the medieval papacy in an attempt to unite Christendom under one rule. At times the territory of the empire was extensive and included Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and parts of Italy and the Netherlands." 

note: it is exceptionally significant that the forgery "The Liturgy of St Mark" tries to backdate part of the heresy the Scarlet and Purple heresy, that is a misinterpretation of Romans 13, all the way back to the Apostle Mark. ​

REWRITING HISTORY:
I would like to make a prediction on this first page. I predict them rewriting history again. Now. And if they are not careful they may trip over their own cassocks doing it. To go along with their forgeries, mistranslations, misquotations you will soon see the Orthodox Church rewriting history in this generation. Embarrassing statements like "which by tradition is....." will suddenly start changing to "meant only vague associations". So we will see that the "Liturgy of St Mark" was never meant to deceive the uneducated serfs, peasants and the "laity" of history into thinking St Mark had something to do with it, but that it was only ever mean to imply a very vague association. I am not sure which one is the biggest deceit, the Liturgy of St Mark or their excusing of it.

We need to get our historical scholars into action to examine the so called "proof" of the purported interface between the Apostles and the next generation of believers and disprove the lies told by Orthodoxy. I have seen almost laughable anachronisms in the quotations they offer as "proof" of this connection between the spurious litany of saints they insist had views identical to them, many of whom in fact probably never even existed in the first place, in the same way Peter was supposed to be "proven" to be the bishop of Rome, when their is no evidence whatsoever he even went there. They insist for instance a liturgy exists that is that is used by them linked directly to St Mark, the author of the Gospel of Mark, a long rambling religious rite confirming St Mark believed in transubstantiation or metousiosis, which is as credible as icons that miraculously drip myrrh and the miracle of holy fire. The only real thing to find out is when it was forged. The indoctrinated Orthodox believer, drunk on the wine of religion, looks on in awe and wonder at the long clockwork rambling Liturgy of Mark as if it was as authentic as the holy bible itself, but the Evangelical Faith look at the bogus documents as if they are as real as the Roman Catholic claim to have the relic of the umbilical cord of Jesus Christ, or 13 bodies of Saint Peter. The Liturgy of Mark is such a religious fake I do not know how anyone in their right mind could for 10 seconds be dumb enough to believe St Mark had a thing to do with it. It is a totally preposterous fake. Yet the Orthodox believer would rather gamble his salvation on such forged documents and forged links between spurious saints, the Apostles and the Apostate Church under Constantine than Sola Scriptura. Big mistake by them.

THE LITURGY OF ST MARK: 
The liturgy of St Mark, supposedly used by St Mark himself, writer of the Gospel of Mark, is a clear and complete and utter forgery. It is of farce proportions. Only someone "drunk on the wine of the wrath of her fornication" would believe such a totally obvious FORGERY!

The Eastern Orthodox religion​ has not had much criticism from Evangelicals and Protestants over the centuries in the way that Catholicism has. The Orthodox Faith has put itself outside the familiar doctrinal jargon used in famous tomes such as The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, and to engage them in theological debate you must master a whole new world of jargon they have adopted for themselves to hide behind. They invented this jargon, it is not a universally held theological jargon used as a platform for doctrinal debating, and thus they will continually say you have fundamentally misunderstood every word in their mystified theology rhetoric. When their theology lies in tatters in the dust, people can get bored with such lame excuses.  Now however they are trying to prey on Evangelicals on Youtube and are spoiling for a theological tussle with our best theologists. I believe Orthodoxy can fall apart in a way Catholicism has not, because the Orthodox religion hides behind the phrase "it's a mystery" much more. The Catholics give absurd answers to doctrinal debates, then try to hold their ground, but the Orthodox Faith does not do this, it comes out with a swarm of oxymoronic doctrines just like Catholics do, but they keep saying it is all a mystery, and I believe because of this a giant victory can be won against it, as people will get tired of them ducking and diving out of the real issues in question. There is no substance to the things they say.

Millions of lost souls are trapped in this fake form of the Christian Faith. This site aims to help people to see that the Eastern Orthodox Christian Faith is not "the way" to the eternal Kingdom of God, because Jesus said he is the way, and Orthodoxy does not accept Jesus as their one and only Saviour! Adding the sacraments and their own works to their salvation, and thus preaching a different "good news" or gospel than is found in the bible.

An example of this is the mass or as they say "The Holy Eucharist". The very idea of eating Jesus is unholy, and this is why the cup of the Whore of Babylon is called "the filthiness of her fornication" or the idolatry of saying wine and bread are God in the flesh. The Catholics make plain statements about what the bread and wine become. The Greeks say their word "Metousiosis" is not the same as transubstantiation. When examined theologically, logically and scientifically the lie of transubstantiation falls apart, but at least the populous have something real to understand and believe with the Catholics. The Greeks however are masters of sophistry and try to muddy the waters by saying there is a difference between changing the "substance" than there is in changing "the inner reality" or the "essence". When you debate this and the whole twisted lie that they are eating the body and blood of Christ falls apart, they simply say it is impossible for an unsaved, unspiritual non Orthodox person such as yourself to ever grasp what Metousiosis really means, neither is it possible for them to define it, as it is too spiritual to define. How convenient. If you buy that kind of lie your Faith just becomes credulity. Why don't they adopt a policy of honesty then, and say when they give out the holy eucharist to their flock "not the body of Christ" as they give them the bread and "not the blood of Christ" as they give them the wine?

Until I started to look more deeply into this religion, I did not realise how staggeringly full of a plethora of rituals, bogus traditions, and idols in disguise it is. It is stuffed to the brim with them. Anyone who can sit there week after week watching it all happen, and not realise it is not from God, simply is not walking in the Spirit, and must be insincere. They say things like "The book of Hebrews does not tell us who the author was...... traditionally it was Luke....... tradition exists therefore even among Protestants...... therefore this stifling avalanche of traditions of ours are not only true, but were practiced by the original church and first apostles!" They find a gnat, and build it into a camel. For instance, I have known that their teachings on baptism were wrong for many years, but It was jaw dropping for me to recently discover the absolute landslide of rituals and traditions of human origin that are practiced alongside it. When seeing a responsibility from God in the scriptures, the Pharisees of this religion egotistically turn it into a fantastic fiasco of phony procedures designed to endue them with fake powers, and draw attention to them and not God, like a legion of theatrical exhibitionist imposters.

Simple Dignity:
What the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church is missing is the simple dignity with which Jesus lived his life. A King born in a stable, the sublimity of whose teachings rested in a heart toward heaven, and the use of simple, nobel natural images in his parables. He never dressed in the soft ostentatious robes found in kings palaces, except when the Romans were tormenting and torturing him in his passion, and arrayed him in a scarlet coloured robe, and even then his crown was made of thorns. Contrast this with their churches and shrines, saturated with idols dressed-up as icons, covered in gold leaf, the wardrobe of opulent and extravagant outfits, crowns and tiaras worn by their pseudo bishops,  and their Cathedrals and churches encrusted and bedecked in elaborate grandiose ornamentation to the point of gaudiness. Far from the simple dignity of the first church, who met in houses, or went down to the river to pray in the Book of Acts. Orthodoxy is the spirit of Babylonian religion, described in Revelation chapter 17, and chapter 18, and their shops are more likely to sell you an idol than a bible. This trade in idols and artifacts is mentioned in the two chapters of the Book of Revelation mentioned above.

Are Orthodox Churches the same as Eastern Orthodox Churches?
Not all Orthodox Churches are 'Eastern Orthodox'. The 'Oriental Orthodox Churches' have theological differences with the Eastern Orthodox and form a separate group, while a few Orthodox Churches are not 'in communion' with the others. Not all Churches in the Eastern tradition are Orthodox - Eastern Churches that are not included in the Orthodox group include the Eastern Catholic Churches. Yet each of these churches claim their differing doctrines, traditions and practices can be traced back to the original church.  

Schisms:
One shocking thing I found out by chatting to Orthodox believers, is that there has been more than one big schism in their history. The Great Schism of 1054 with the Roman Catholics is well known. However what might be called "The Old Calendarist Schism of the1920's" had a catastrophic impact on their church. Casual Evangelical or Protestant onlookers may think the Eastern Orthodox Religion is one big harmonious faith, but in fact a kind of "inner core" of their religion calling themselves True Orthodoxy spurns a huge percentage of their churches, bishops, clergy and flock as compromisers, to such an extent as to deny their bishops are real. What the percentage among them are in the two divided halves is not clear at all.
​This division is over a number of issues, not just the calendar change to "the new calendar" or "Revised Julian Calendar" (I need to research this, I thought at first it was the Gregorian Calendar, and they suspected a Papist plot to take over Orthodoxy)  , which is seen by the old school as the thin end of the wedge to make radical new changes. Another divisive issue is bishops allowing inter faith marriages (such as Orthodox and Evangelical), as marriage. To them dont forget marriage is elevated to a sacrament, thus I have even heard the so called True Orthodox clergy calling an inter faith marriage between Orthodox and Evangelical a "pretense-marriage" which is very heretical, more astray than having such a marriage in the first instance, as it would be declaring their children illegitimate.  This effectively means Eastern Orthodoxy is two churches not one, and if the majority in one church say and practice certain things, the minority self-styled True Orthodoxy say "Orthodoxy does not teach or do that" when in fact thats only what they say, presupposing most people in the world see them as "the real deal" Orthodox church.


And if they are embarrassed by their history, doctrines, traditions, false church, false doctrines or icons, they can always produce some annecdotal quote from the writings of some obscure sage, hermit, saint, stylite, pillarist, proselyte or cave dweller from Timbuktu to the north pole that somehow is supposed to sweep it all under the carpet. This especially relates to the subject of works salvation and the sacraments, where the light of the bible is now being shone upon them from the Evangelical church with such overwhelming power, they are embarrassed to the bones that they have included these things into salvation, and they want to find a poltice to put over the gaping wound of their theological idiocy, to try to trick their congregations into staying in their false Faith. Sorry but it doesn't wash. Their gospel is not and never was the Evangelical Good News.

THE CHURCH:
The Greek Orthodox believer (presently) loves to debate scripture with Evangelical believers like me, because they see Evangelicals as heterodox

And the pharisees in their Faith, the bishops and priests, usually like to allow their flock to engage Evangelicals in spiritual battles, like FaceBook or YouTube discussions, where they perceive themselves as "defenders of the Faith against the heterodox". The sad truth is however, if the Evangelical is in the Spirit, and knows his foundation teachings, the heretics of Orthodoxy will soon be exposed as not only not the church - but those who have throughout the centuries persecuted, imprisoned and murdered the true church. Be the Good Lord willing, the Evangelical Church will soon be so well informed about the sins of Orthodoxy the priests and bishops of Orthodoxy will sound the trumpet of retreat, and tell their flock to hide under the nearest flat stone, and not engage in debates with Evangelicals, because all the lies of Orthodoxy will otherwise be busted.
