MATTHEW 5: 17-19
NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE
WHY THE ORTHODOX ARE LAW BREAKERS:
The Orthodox churches have a fundamental misunderstanding of Matthew 5: 17-19. They do not understand the two great "untils" in this scripture. This subject is also linked to the subject of dispensationalism within Orthodoxy.
NOT ONE JOT OR TITTLE OF THE LAW.........
Jesus said

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5: 17-20
THE CORRECT MEANING:
Here Jesus says "until" twice.
2) "UNTIL all be fulfilled" - Luke 24:44-48. The new covenant law is sealed with blood (as were the former covenants,) but this time with the blood of Jesus and the resurrection. New covenant law is now in place.
1) "UNTIL heaven and earth pass" at a future date just after the Millennium Kingdom, when the saints live in glorified resurrected bodies. The way we will interface with the law changes, 1 Cor 7 about divorce and remarriage issues for instance, as we "no longer marry nor are given in marriage" will not have the relevance that it does today. Further at this point in history, having been named here, it is conceivable new laws might be given by God of some kind, governing our lives in eternity.
THE FALSE MEANING GIVEN BY JUDAIZING CULTS:
The modern Judaizing Cults, that seek to bring the law of Moses "jot and tittle" into the Faith, misinterpret Matthew 5:17-20 by missing out the meaning of what might be referred to as "the two great untils" and say the correct interpretation is that the archaic and anachronistic old law of Moses is here today, and will be right through the Millennium Kingdom, until "all be fulfilled" that is every single prophecy about the kingdom and Messiah and his people, ignoring that Jesus specifically interpreted what he meant in Luke 24 using the exact same expression "These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me".
This Hebrew Roots or Judaizing cult, that is essentially a modern form of the Galatians heresy, is described as "the doctrines of devils" cult in 1 Tim 4:1-4. The interpretation is exceptionally heretical, as the old law was so violent and draconian. The devilishly and wildly attack every facet of the true Christian Faith in order to justify their error, often including the Holy Trinity, the new testament Greek, and the Book of Revelation, ignoring the fact that the word Yahweh does not appear once in the true new testament.
THE FALSE MEANING GIVEN BY ORTHODOXY:
Orthodoxy and Catholicism also heretically misinterpret this scripture Matthew 5:17-20 by imagining they have an entirely bogus authority to add to new covenant traditions and practices, by a fake concept of "hand me down" powers falsely asserted to go back to the apostles.
While attacking the concept of "dispensationalism" in almost every idea of interpretation of it given by Evangelicals and Protestants (and I agree with Orthodoxy and Catholicism there are many heretical forms of dispensationalism found in various of these sects) they themselves are in effect doing the same thing, by imagining they have these false powers to shape church law, practice and traditions.
The end result of their heresy is that the fact that the Orthodox church now bears almost no similarity to the early church, with its pomp, gold and silver artifacts, uniforms, rituals, liturgies, icons, creeds, heresies, councils, purpose built shrines, abbeys, Cathedrals and churches, is of no account...... they were and are empowered to change things according to their theology. Whereas the glaringly obvious fact is the nearest thing we have today that matches the first church is the born again Christian Evangelical house group churches.
WHERE IT REALLY CAME FROM:
The modern Judaizing cults are different from, and in vehement conflict with, the historical form of Judaism that goes back to the time after the Lord's resurrection in which the Pharisees sat down and wrote out the satanic tome "The Talmud".
THE LAW WAS MODIFIED BEFORE CALVARY:
JOT AND TITTLE:
The law was until Luke 23:44-48, I think the spiritual of you know that....... however, did you remember by the Sermon on the Mount it was ALREADY a modified law, as Jesus said "the law and the prophets prophesied UNTIL John" when the OLD covenant taking away of sin by a yearly sacrificed was REPLACED by a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins?
This is why the Pharisees never challenged Jesus once for never turning up for the yearly sacrifice.
