Pornography.
As the word "porneia" in Greek includes every form of sexual licentiousness (unless it is used in a context discounting some of them) the word includes looking at pornography. Before looking at claims divorce and remarriage can happen licitly in God's eyes because of it, a broader discussion is needed.
What exactly qualifies as pornography? How can we identify a reasonable middle-ground between prudery and lust? Muslims see western style swim suits as "haram" (a complex issue with them), even though the prophet David danced before God only in his loin clothe, but simultaneously Islam then allows polygamy, temporary wives, concubines, child brides, divorce for almost nothing, and even says fornication must not be confessed to an intended spouse, in other words Islam uses visual and dress-code prudery to cover-up their culture of sexual immorality.
On the other hand, what if we will all be judged on the Day of Judgement by Victorian standards of morality about what is pornographic; that is to say Western society is so infiltrated by pornographic images people no longer realise modern shopping catalogues of clothing would have been considered very pornographic in Victorian England, as would a lot of videos on FaceBook "Reels" and Youtube. By legalising soft core and hard core pornography for adults has the world numbed people to realising that even things like mini skirts. low cut sweaters and flimsy blouses would have been seen as sinful in Victorian times to the extent of being seen as pornographic and a cause for damnation. If so it would seem the drastic solution would be to become a hermit in modern society. I mention these issues simply to alert people to avoid worldliness, and for you to reconsider what holy living is.
My view about attire is modern swimming costumes is they should be compared to David dancing before God, we should not be prudes, and Islam uses hypocritical prudery to enslave and subordinate women, but some swimming costumes are like pieces of string, they are sinful in my opinion, and modesty has to be considered. The same with skirts. We cannot get away from the existence of sexuality being part of adult life, an example being if Arnold Schwarzenegger or Sophia Loren wear reasonable swim wear they are going to look more sexually desirable than average, That is just life. Bikinis can be in a dangerous grey area between reasonable swimwear and "bits of string" or g-strings or thongs.
Can viewing pornography justify divorce and remarriage?
The Orthodox over and over and over again have oxymoronic theology and doctrine. They want to say they believe marriage is for life, then give a plethora of reasons, including viewing porn, as allowing for legitimate divorce and remarriage. Their theology is like a person claiming to be "a vegetarian meat eater". At least Catholics have the integrity and intelligence not to use such duplicity, incongruity, self-contradiction and antithesis most of the time. Frankly the Orthodox are all too often liars. Divorce is a big example of this, they want to say they believe marriage is for life, then allow divorce and remarriage over a plethora of issues including post-marital viewing of pornography. This belief of the Orthodox thinking legitimate divorce and remarriage can happen because of porn is why I am writing this page, but also to warn people not be lured into worldliness in a society that has lowered standards tremendously over what we see. Divorce and remarriage over the issue of post-marital viewing of pornography is heresy. As we have seen from the discussion above on this page, defining where the boundary is about pornography can be difficult, as prudery has its own dangers, including putting people off becoming Christians.
