Protestant versus Catholic versus Orthodox

new page under construction......

1) God .

a) Protestant - One God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit .

b) Catholic - One God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit . (no doctrine of theosis)

c) Orthodox - One God, Father, Son, Holy Spirit + humans (theosis)

2) Salvation .

a) Protestant - by grace through faith alone, "faith" or "belief" being to trust in and rely upon Christ alone for salvation (every tree is known by his fruit). This is not Antinomian or Calvinist both of which are heretical subversions of the Protestant, Evangelical and Anabaptist definition of grace (unmerited favour).

b) Catholic - by works, priestcraft, and redefined grace x 2 (actual grace - temporary help to act, sanctifying grace - permanent help pervading body, soul and spirit. Both actual and sanctifying grace can be resisted by free will, thus are not the salvation by grace of Protestants based on Romans 11:6, changed by the Catholics). Also Purgatory and Penances etc. "Help and works fused together" is not saving grace at all,  it is actually a contradiction in terms of the gift of salvation of the gospel as Romans 11:5 makes clear.

c) Orthodox - Works, priestcraft, redefined grace as "the energia of God" transmitted to man by priests as go-betweens. Also passing tests in Aerial Toll Houses and Penances etc.

The thing Catholics and the Orthodox cannot grasp is that "If you do not throw away the gift of God, that means your gift of salvation was earned, and thus the free gift of salvation cannot exist" is simply a sophism, invented to trap the unwary, similar to "If time is money, those who don't work are rich" or  "If love is blind, and God is love, then God is blind."
