Orthodox suckers believe:
1) Chrism was invented by the Apostles as a substitute for “the laying on of hands by the Apostles” to become born again, when being born again was never anything to do with the laying on of hands, but rather belief in Christ as Saviour, in a moment of salvation between a believer and God alone.
THE MAGIC POTION
That brings eternal life
2) A mixture of forty sweet-smelling substances and pure olive oil.
3) Old chrism is added, to add some trace of “the original chrism made by the Apostles” that never existed in the first place.
4) A bishop must sanctify it, usually the Ecumenical Patriarch.
5) Holy Thursday is customarily the day of its consecration.
6) There must be a series of preparations and ceremonies.
7) The rituals and rites should be performed In the presence of the Presbyterium
(phonies in uniform).
8) There must be a mass, and the blasphemy of Epiklesis must occur for the
magic potion to be blessed and sanctified by their ritualistic sorcery.
9) This chrism can only be used by priests, who have “power over the laity”
(the Nicolaitane heresy.)
10) This chrism. or potion. makes you part of the church, even if a baby. Famous babies of this kind include Stalin and Rasputin.
at what point does the "Abba Father" relationship begin? Orthodoxy says it begins for Eastern Orthodox babies alone, no one else on Planet Earth, as the ONLY way to be born again is through chrismation and triple baptism with an Orthodox priest, who uses a special magic potion that only the Orthodox church possess, chrism, made up of over 3 dozen ingredients, blessed by special bishops, in a special way, in a special place (witchcraft).
Can a lay person baptize?
This is a relevant question as you cannot become part of the Orthodox church without a priest, either baptizing you and chrismation, or by catechumen period and then the same.
Also laughably its easier to become part of the church with a god parent than by a priests catechumen period,
However even though they say rarely nurses etc baptize, they are not given chrismation oil. Its shocking why
The holy Chrism is not given to lay people to handle.
To understand its significance read the Catechetical Lectures of Archbishop Cyril of Jerusalem (4th century?)
"But beware of supposing this to be plain ointment. For as the Bread of the Eucharist, after the invocation of the Holy Ghost, is mere bread no longer , but the Body of Christ, so also this holy ointment is no more simple ointment, nor (so to say) common, after invocation, but it is Christ's gift of grace, and, by the advent of the Holy Ghost, is made fit to impart His Divine Nature.
"Which ointment is symbolically applied to your forehead and your other senses ; and while your body is anointed with the visible ointment, your soul is sanctified by the Holy and life-giving Spirit."
that is such blasphemy and man made ritualistic bunk. Its like witchcraft using chemicals.
The Sacrament or Rite of Illumination consists of three things normally given in one ceremony....
so therefore a nurse baptizing a baby does not make the baby part of the church? You must have a priest to do communion and chrismation too?
Frankly this "special infused chrism" and "give me the power" sounds like the "sin of Simon" in Acts 8 all over again, except he repented, these men have not.
Define Sola Scriptura. To me it means that all that is necessary for salvation is found in scripture, thus we should obey the command of Christ "That which ye have, hold fast till I come". This refutes o me that the Eastern Orthodox idea that you can add things to basic salvation not even found in scripture (like chrismation) heresy in the extreme.
The Eastern Orthodox use Chrismation chrism on a baby. If the Catholics historically (not recently while they try another go at ecumenical unity) have only used chrism in confirmation, not in infant sprinkling ceremonies, then if they link chrism to the receiving of the Holy Ghost, then that only occurs later in life in confirmation, an historically massive difference in doctrine. However some Catholics claim they now, and always have, sprinkled babies and then anointed them with the same chrism the Orthodox do (that is supposed to have old chrism in it so it physically links them with the Apostles. I have great doubts the Catholics have sprinkled and then always anointed the baby 3 times with chrism. See what your historical research comes up with!
If the Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox were really one united church together before the 1054 Schism, NAME THE DATE the Roman Catholics dropped chrismation from their religion.
The Eastern Orthodox say it is through chrismation we receive the Holy Spirit. So how can other churches be saved without it? Their answer is probably that of the Pharisees when Jesus asked them questions that refuted their bogus beliefs "We cannot tell!".
The heresy of chrismation is devastatingly serious!!! Here is why. If you are born again by Chrismation you need a priest to be saved. It is priestcraft salvation, in this case Tri-Synergism. You see apostate Evangelicals from time to time on YouTube who desired to be baptized into the Orthodox religion. To do this they had to convince one of the Orthodox Pharisees he/she was fit to be triple baptized, triple exorcised and Chrismated. So this false priest can deny you rebirth, and thus deny your salvation. You salvation is in his hands? Hey listen that is the Laodicean heresy or "conquering the laity". You need him for salvation? What bunk! What is more so far as I understand the priests won't even baptize you unless you in effect "pass your Catechumen exam" and profess their belief over the Filioque issue! So you only get born again if you are in effect an Orthodox standardized certified clone.
Jesus said clearly: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5. So it is absolutely clear - you CANNOT be saved without being born again, which is the gift of God to everyone that believes the gospel, that is "trusts in and relies upon Jesus for salvation". So Orthodox priests hold your salvation in their hands? Dressed up in their religious uniforms? No way! No way on Earth! What is more they ignore the inevitable conclusion that is chrismation and triple baptism via "a priest with the authority" after passing your Catechumen period is the only way to be born again everyone else is damned! Like everyone in Foxe's Book of martyrs, and every Evangelical. Time to get their box of excuses out! The laughable part is that everyone of their bogus priests is unsaved and certain of damnation, with their "process of salvation" or "synergy of salvation".
This is reference to the Water of the Holy Spirit as made clear in John 4 to the woman at the well. To say it is water baptism is heresy and priestcraft. Even if you do not believe a better translation is "water even (kai) Spirit" the text is still and emphasis, just as he says truly truly twice. It is spiritual rebirth that saves, and this happens when you BELIEVE, when you enter into the new covenant with God. Belief is an act of free will. It happens in an instant in your heart. A covenant is an agreement, a two way process. By accepting the Jesus Saves Gospel (1 Cor 15:1-4, Luke 24:44-48) you are THEN born again! It does NOT require baptism, and no priest is involved in your salvation! Baptism is a command, but its not part of the gospel that saves. It says that in 1 Cor 1:17 "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." A clear statement we are saved by Jesus alone and going so far as to specifically exclude baptism from the salvation gospel.
So what about Mark 16:16? "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Please notice he does not say "but he that believeth not and is not baptized shall be damned." The emphasis for salvation is clearly on the issue of belief! John 3:16 is a divine truth "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Your salvation is between you and God and no one else! Remember that! Jesus is the one and only Saviour of your soul!
The entire effort to attach rebirth
Chrismation follows immediately after baptism and is by anointing with holy oil called Chrism. The Chrism is used to anoint different parts of the body with a sign of the cross. Chrism can only be consecrated by the Patriarch, or chief Bishop, of the local Church..... thus linking the salvation of your soul to a bishop, as well as a priest. The forehead, eyes, nostrils, mouth and ears, the chest, the hands and the feet are all anointed. The priest says the words, "The seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit" as he makes the sign of the cross at each point. Some of the old Chrism is mixed with the new, thus linking the newly baptised to their forbears in the faith.
Their claim that the Holy Spirit is imparted to a person (usually a baby) only through chrismation, when no other church but them practice chrismation, would be an emphatic doctrine of damnation to all other Faiths. Yet of course they would be embarrassed by this and would want to try to talk their way around it, as otherwise their flock would see clearly a choice must be made as to the truth or lies of such a doctrine, and might see through the lie and chose instead to believe that the Holy Spirit is given by God when a person believes.
The different doctrines between born again Christians and Orthodoxy not clash over what Regeneration is.
